Sep 8, 2008 | Filed in Troubleshooting |

Here is the resetter program for Epson Stylus Photo R290 as requested.

Please follow the steps below to reset the protection counter effectively.

  1. If you have any anti virus software, please deactivate first.
The resetter software (adjprog.exe) requires specific date to run and your anti virus will prevent that.
  2. Make sure you printer is ON and connected to your computer.
  3. Run “Start.bat” file.
This program will set your computer date to 1 Apr 2008.
  4. Click “Accept” button.
  5. Click “Particular adjustment mode” button.
  6. Select on “Waste ink pad counter” and click “OK” button.
  7. Click on “Initialization” button and the program will reset the protection counter.
  8. Click “Finish” button.
  9. Change your computer’s date back when it prompted.
  10. Reactivate your anti virus if any.

I downloaded the reseteing software. It is working fine. But I get suprised because I expected the ink level on cartridges to show full after reseteing, but they remained at the same level! How the refilling can be successful when the intelligent chip is not reseted to full?
    Please help me on that.

    Hi Leonidas,

Resetting software is not related to resetting ink level on cartridges. Resetting software is help you to reset the protection counter. If you don’t know what it’s all about, read “What is protection counter” article at this blog.

If you want to reset the ink level of the cartridge, you need a tool name chip resetter, that available in the market.

I extracted all files, reset the computer clock to 01-04-2008 but there is no accept button. When I hit Enter it seems to close that window which should be left open
When I click Particular Adjustment mode button it prompts me to “run’ this and then all 4 files disappear and I am left with a blank window

    Help me please!!!
