Follow step by step below in order to reset protection counter for Epson C58.
- Make sure you printer is ON and connected to your computer.
- Change your computer’s date to 9 Nov 2006. (This is a key step)
- Run AdjProg.exe file.
- Click “Accept” button.
- Click “Particular adjustment mode” button.
- Select on “Waste ink pad counter” and click “OK” button.
- Click on “Initialization” button and the program will reset the protection counter.
- Click “Finish” button.
- Change your computer’s date back.

In previous post, it made� some confusion to peoples so I review and write an individual post that tackles protection counter issue for Epson C79 printer only.
In order for you to reset protection counter successfully, you must follow step by step provided below. Once it executed and you encountered a problem, you have to perform reverse clean-up. See related post for more information.
- If you have any anti virus software, please deactivate first.
The resetter software (adjprog.exe) requires specific date to run and your anti virus will prevent that.� � - Make sure you printer is ON and connected to your computer.
- Run “Start.bat” file.
This program will set your computer date to� 1 Nov 2006 automatically. - Click “Accept” button.
- Click “Particular adjustment mode” button.
- Select on “Waste ink pad counter” and click “OK” button.
- Click on “Initialization” button and the program will reset the protection counter.
- Click “Finish” button.
- Change your computer’s date back.
- Reactivate your anti virus if any.

For those who has Epson Stylus C79, Epson Stylus Photo R270 or Epson Stylus CX3900 (All-in-one), you can reset the protection counter without any software.
Follow this steps and the protection counter will be resetted.
- Switch off the printer
- Switch on the printer
- Press once the ink button
- Printer head move to left side
- Press the ink button again
- Printer head move to right side
- The red light will be disapeared, the protection counter has resetted
This instruction comes with printer purchase. Please give some comments whether this step is work.

Here is the resetter program that I have found from the Internet. Unfortunately, I don’t have this printer so I can’t test it. Please share with me whether the program can reset your printer, either Epson C79, R270 or CX3900. Your feedback is really appreciated.
Here are the steps that you have to follow in order to reset your printer.
1. Make sure you printer is ON and connected to your computer

4. Click Accept button
5. Click “Particular adjustment mode”
6. Select on “Waste ink pad counter” and click OK button
7. Click on “Initialization” button and the program will reset the protection counter
8. Click Finish button
9. Change your computer’s date back

Reset Protection Counter for Epson CX1500

Some people ask me whether I have a software to reset the protection counter for Epson CX1500 and yes, I have it.
I got the software from the Russian website long time ago (sorry I can’t remember the link).
I haven’t tried it because I don’t have this printer, so I couldn’t give you a feedback on how successful this software to reset the protection counter. Read the readme document first before you do anything to your printer.
After you configured the software, just proceed to Step 5 (Waste Ink pad counter), please don’t touch other area of the software, it may damage your printer. Use at your own risk.
As I mentioned at my previous article, you are supposed to change/clean the sponge before you reset the protection counter to prevent ink spill from your printer.
